The Regional Natural Park of the Baronnies Provençales relies 7 gateways with a strong cultural and heritage identity. The city of Montélimar is one of its gateways.
With an area of 1560 km², the Park recently created (2014) extends on a massif between Drôme and Hautes-Alpes. This exceptional place with preserved nature is recognized at the national level for its rich terroir : 6 AOC (Controlled Origin Label) and 4 PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), its amazing landscapes, its built heritage (typical terraces made up of dry stones, hilltop villages) and emblematic agriculture (orchards, olive groves, linden, lavender, thyme, rosemary …) as well as for its remarkable geology and biodiversity.
